Kely McKeown

Training and instructional design have always been a passion of mine; then I discovered corporate compliance. Fortunately, one of the seven elements of an effective compliance program is training! With the two passions combined, I’m now doing what I love by helping companies implement effective compliance training programs. When done well, effective training reduces risk, makes audits a breeze and truly effects change.

I specialize in creating customized compliance training, implementing learning management systems (LMS), and compliance program management.

Background

In 2018, I went out on my own as a consultant. I help life science companies operationalize their compliance programs. Right now, I’m doing contract work at Google in their Finance Academy. Working at Google has sharpened my skills, and given me a insights to how Google effectively creates a positive culture for their employees to do their best work. (In case you’re wondering, the food is amazing.)

In the past couple of years, I’ve had the opportunity to complete a HIPAA audit, set-up an HCP Speaker Program and create new-hire compliance training for sales reps. To ensure both Sunshine Act and Stark compliance, I implemented Concur Professional and created the roll-out training.

During my six-year tenure at a large genomic laboratory, I implemented SAP’s SuccessFactors LMS, developed the entire compliance training curriculum, managed Stark Law compliance, and created new-hire compliance training for commercial sales. As G.D.P.R. came along, I was the Program Manager, moving the company towards G.D.P.R. compliance. I have a strong interest in Privacy Program Management.

Previous to working in the life science industry, I held program management and instructional design positions in several industries, including credit card, mortgage banking, international shipping, multi-national engineering/construction, and higher education.
